Flake fleet Primary school (Fleetwood) (Phase 4)
Following on from phase 3 we carried out a full replacement of the roof coverings at a local school, stripping back the existing coverings back to the rafters and re-covering with a new breathable underlay along with new machine graded 25x50mm battens. Once new underlay and battens had been installed we began to re-cover in the new Sandtoft 20/20 clay interlocking tile nailing and clipping each tile to secure and finishing off with new sandtoft concrete ridge and hip tiles secured with a vented dry fix system.
Alongside the pitched roofing works we carried out a liquid overlay of the flat roof utilising the existing waterproofing and deck to minimise disruption and ultimately cost for the client/school. The works where inspected by our team and supported by our chosen manufacturer , and a suitable tailored specification was generated.
Fleet PMMA system was specified due to its rapid curing technology, and extreme bonding capability to existing substrates. A 20 year warranty was issued and an externally durable waterproofing provided to a very happy client and school.
This project wasn’t straight forward due to the location of the roof within the school, the roof is located within a quadrant meaning there was no easy access for waste and materials, nevertheless we managed to complete the works on time leaving the school not only safe from the elements but looking fantastic.
